Matthew Keeler is a PhD candidate at ETH Zurich in the Intelligence for Design, Engineering, and Learning (IDEAL) lab under Dr. Mark Fuge within the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering. He previously recieved his M.S. and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Matthew's research is centered on the early-stage design process -- which includes design brainstorming, ideation, and concept evaluation/selection. Specifically, he focuses on developing systematic and mathematical approaches to generalize the early design phase such that it can be fully or semi-automated across numerous engineering disciplines.
