Additional information
Soheyl Massoudi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Informatics for Design, Engineering, and Learning (IDEAL) Lab, led by Prof. Dr. Mark Fuge at ETH Zurich. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from EPFL in 2017 and 2020, respectively, and completed his Ph.D. at the Laboratory for Applied Mechanical Design (LAMD) under Prof. Dr. Jürg Schiffmann in 2024.
His doctoral research focused on multidisciplinary, robust design methodologies using surrogate model-assisted optimization, employing ensemble neural networks and evolutionary algorithms, with applications in gas-bearing supported turbocompressors for heat pumps and fuel cells.
At IDEAL, his current research explores leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to enable autonomous artificial agents for iterative engineering design tasks.
